The new make-up ‘must have’ is definitely highlighters and with so many different options to choose, how do you know which one is right for you.

Here is our Beautec tried and tested top 6 list for highlighters of 2017

Bobbi Brown – Brightening Finishing Powder – Porcelain Pearl

This all-over powder instantly illuminates and gives skin a healthy-looking glow. You can use it all over the face or to highlight the cheek bones, brow and nose.

Tried and Tested: This is great for a day time glow, it’s subtle but still pretty. It’s not the cheapest on the market at £42.00, but does comes with a cute little mirrored case.

Sleek Make-up – Highlighting Palette – Cleo’s Kiss

This palette is versatile and good for all skin types. It has a mix of both cream and powder highlighter, enabling you to build up the amount of shimmer required.

Tried and Tested: This is an affordable palette at £10.00 and allows you to control the level of highlight. Although isn’t more is more with highlighting!

E.L.F Cosmetics – e.l.f Studio Baked Highlighter

As value for money goes this highlighter provides exactly that! At £5.00 a highlighter and available in all 3 colours it’s tempting to have all three! It has some great ingredients with Vitamin E and nourishing fruit extracts to keep the skin moisturised.

Tried and Tested: This highlighter is great as a blusher and highlighter, giving you cheeks something special. Its great on combination to oil skin.

Benefit Cosmetics – High Beam

Say hello to the mother of all highlighters! If there is one highlighter to rule them all High Beam is it! Its full shimmer effect comes in a light-weight liquid and can be built up for a full effect. This is a great evening make-up product, with its powerful pop.

Tried and Tested: You can wear this product in those key highlighting areas, such as cheeks, brow, nose and cupids bow creating a striking highlight effect, or another great way to wear it is to mix it with foundation for an all-over glow, making it subtler. Another good thing about high beam is its great value for money, at £21.50 it will last for ages.

Kat Von D – Alchemist Holographic Palette

Who said a highlighter was only a highlighter (no woman ever), however we are serious when we say this product does it all! It is amazing on all skin types; the pigments are out of this world and it took 7 years to make!! 7 years… it must be special!

Tried and Tested: Well not us personally as it’s currently not available here until 2nd May! (We are already in the que however). It is available in the USA and we hear that these individual powders can be applied over everything and anything; lipstick, eyeshadow or just applied as a normal highlighter! We can’t wait to try it out! In the States this will cost you $32.00, we will update pricing on the UK release date, which is exclusive to Debenhams!

NYX cosmetics – Hydra Touch Brightner

This nifty little highlighter is a perfect pop in your pocket product. It subtly brightens your completion whilst giving a cooling sensation upon contact with the skin.

Tried and Tested: This is a great little pick me up product to use throughout the day and because it is water based is great on all skin types. We loved the choice of colours and how easy it was to use!... And at £7.00 it’s a bargain!
